Stern Pinball's Godzilla is one the most popular machines in pinball history! And for good reason, the game seriously rules!
Godzilla cemented Keith Elwin as one of the best playfield designers in pinball, while also showing just how well his layouts and rules can work together.
There's never a shortage of things to do while playing Godzilla. The game is packed with unique modes and multiballs, but one of my favourite features has to be Mechagodzilla Multiball and its Super Jackpot. Anyone who has read my Fish Tales Super Jackpot Guide will know I'm a sucker for a good Super Jackpot.
This guide is tailored towards the Premium and Limited Edition versions of Stern's Godzilla. But the same basic structure still applies.

Starting Mechagodzilla Multiball
Godzilla's playfield and rules form a perfect bond, and this multiball is one of the best examples.
To start Mechagodzilla Multiball, you'll want to focus on the right-hand side of the playfield.
This area is packed! There's the Mechagodzilla bash toy with its magnet, along with a spinner mounted on a jump ramp that can rotate around to reveal three targets representing Mechagodzilla's shield.
There are two main phases to complete before you can light the multiball.
Spinner Phase
First, rip the spinner to bring Mechagodzilla "online".
Your spinner progress is shown on the long hot dog-shaped light bar in front of the spinner. It progresses through green, yellow, orange and finally red.
After 20 spins, the entire bar will be lit red.
Once the spinner has settled, shoot it one more time. The assembly will rotate around, revealing the three shield targets and beginning the next phase.
Shield Phase
Now you need to break through Mechagodzilla's shield.
Hit each of the three shield targets at least once to complete this phase.
Quick tip: Holding the upper-right flipper up after shooting the upper spinner will often cause the ball to bounce into the left-most shield target. It's a handy way of sneaking in one of the more awkward targets.
Once you've defeated the shield, the assembly rotates back around.
Hit the spinner one more time to start Mechagodzilla Multiball.

Mechagodzilla Multiball - Phase One
The first phase of Mechagodzilla Multiball has six jackpots to collect, indicated by light-blue inserts.
The six jackpots are:
Left Ramp
Building
Right Ramp
3 individual shield targets
This phase is all about alternating between the major playfield shots and the three shield targets.
Collect all six jackpots and you'll advance to the next phase.

Mechagodzilla Multiball - Phase two
There aren't many modern pinball machines with three spinners, and Godzilla makes proper use of every single one.
Once you've collected all six jackpots, you have 20 seconds to build your Super Jackpot value.
All three spinners are active, with every spin adding 500,000 points to the Super Jackpot.
So rip them as hard and as often as you can.
I LOVE SPINNERS!

Super Jackpot Collect
I hope you ripped those spinners!
Once the build phase ends, the Super Jackpot is lit for the next 20 seconds.
You can collect it by shooting the right spinner, or you can go for the much more valuable 3X Super Jackpot via the Tail Whip.
There's also a 10-second grace period to collect the Super Jackpot during single-ball play.
Collecting the Super Jackpot will also light Terror of Mechagodzilla at Power Up Level 4.
And that's Mechagodzilla Multiball!
Too Long; Didn't Read:
Spam Mechagodzilla to start multiball.
Collect all six light-blue jackpots.
Spam spinners.
Collect the Super Jackpot through the right spinner.
Or be brave and shoot the Tail Whip for 3X.

Play it now
